If you reside in a place like we do in Western New York (we're in Rochester!) With beautifully warm summers and cold snowy winters, you will know your choices for your kid's birthday celebration are largely dependent on the weather.
As an August baby, we always had little family parties outside at my residence. But, together with sons born in November and March, we are always left to book an indoor venue for their celebrations, if we chose to have them that season. While those with kids with summer birthdays may seem lucky to have so many choices at their disposal, it may also often feel overwhelming.
While at Climbing Vines Cafe and Play we might be biased because we sponsor indoor celebrations, I wished to share with you the 5 most common reasons we hear out of past party clients to book indoor summer evenings with us. To these, the stress-free nature of the indoor summertime celebration is really a no-brainer, and they're not looking back! After their first indoor summer party, they keep hosting with us year after year.
1) NO WEATHER WORRIES
The most common reason for a client to book a summer indoor celebration with us is they don't have to stalk the weather forecast for upgrades in the weeks leading up to the celebration. And if you've ever had to cancel or postpone your child's birthday due to weather, you realize how heartbreaking that can be.
We get dozens of calls every summer a couple of days before someone's outdoor celebration is supposed to happen to find out if we have an open slot for them within our indoor party place due to weather woes. We can usually pull off this if the spot remains open, but hosts will unfortunately need to starve and let all of their guests are aware of the change in place and likely shift in time, and also change all their catering orders to accommodate their new party program.
While of course rain is most likely the largest obstacle you might face, extreme heat, unseasonably cool weather, and wind can also pose issues to your decorations, food, and your guests' possessions. You will probably end up investing in a kayak another weather barrier just to ease your mind a bit, which can be costly and require lots of precious time to set up and take down. I won't even tell the story of the time my Dad put a tent up for a celebration in a windstorm and wound up with an insurance claim for 4 ruined automobiles when it blew away (
weights and anchors and all!) ...
Besides the obvious weather concerns you can avoid with a indoor celebration, there can also just be something so straightforward and lovely about an indoor summer party. Guests will not need to be worried about bringing sunscreen and towels and towels and swimsuits and changes of clothing and insect spray... you get the picture.
Sometimes it's nice to have a brief break from the outside, sip coffee in an air borne cafe, also have a real conversation with other adults while the children play, rather than chasing children around attempting to receive their hat on them or keeping them away from your in-ground pool. I am not sure about you, but I can never really relax at an outdoor summer birthday celebration with a 2 and a 4 year old. While they sure do have a fantastic time running around, we typically leave in a daze or using a tantrum, unsure whether we even had time to chat or check in with everyone.
While I absolutely adore a fantastic barbecue or summer grilling extravaganza, I also find it refreshing when we could take a break from the same-old backyard bash and spend a few hours in a relaxing, cool, and most significantly -- included! -- atmosphere.
It's also freeing as a guest to have the rest of the day to do as we want as a family and not need to be concerned about getting the kids to a bath immediately after the celebration or quitting home to cool off and change clothing.
I promise that in the event you reserve an indoor party for your child, guests (particularly family) might appear a little confused at first (why not take advantage of the summer weather while we can, right?) But after hosting hundreds of indoor parties I can tell you for certain that on the day-of, you and your visitors will realize how pleasant it can be to reunite in an air-conditioned private party for a few hours.
Speaking of how relaxing a indoor, air-conditioned party could be, can we discuss food for a second?
So, for our loved ones, the meals factor alone could be sufficient to justify an indoor party.
Eating in peace without needing to find colour or a chair or a place away from bugs is one of these things that you do not realize can be so magnificent until you attend your fourth or fifth outdoor
arcadeplayground.net summer gathering and after that get a break from them. Among the most common things we hear is how nice it's to sit and eat and see the kiddos play with no any venue-related cares or concerns. This will be particularly important when you are going to be having elderly family members attend who can battle with being mobile in the sand or marijuana and
finding seating at outside parties.
Plus, when was the last time you attended an outdoor summer celebration with a complete espresso bar and cafe available for visitors to enjoy now that they don't need to be concerned about running around chasing their kids in the warmth? Do not worry, we have you covered there, literally!
While party aesthetic may not be a deciding factor for every household, it sure is significantly easier to make a themed extravaganza which lights a youngster's face up as soon as the party's indoors. The decorations required tend to be less because the area is smaller and contained contained, and you won't need to worry about balloons and streamers blowing about or securing table covers down.
Because we do host cellular events outdoors at Climbing Vines Cafe and Play, I can also speak from experience once I say the time it takes to install (and take down!) Decorations for an outside party compared to an indoor party usually ends up being double. Finding good places to hang banners, requiring two people to maintain and protect everything, and finding weights or other restraints for everything can be a true hassle on party day.
And you will have enough to be concerned about this day, right?
Furthermore, if your pinterest planks are filled with cute centerpieces, a candy bar, or anything that could possibly be affected by wind (or bring bees!) You will likely have to restrategize to get an outdoor soiree.
And of course decoration typically can only get used once if used outside, but repurposed again and again if used for an indoor event. Our guests that host indoor occasions, especially those who invested significant money into decoration or worked hard to create their very own, are very happy to find they could usually make a large chunk of their cash back by reselling their materials something like Facebook Marketplace.
5) YOU MAY ACTUALLY SAVE MONEY
Speaking of cash, probably the biggest misconception I hear from customers is that they wish to sponsor a party at their home to save themselves the leasing fee of an indoor area. I usually laugh at this because it makes perfect sense, in other words, if you have never hosted an outdoor party.
With all of the"extras" such as tents, seat rentals, additional decorations, weather reinforcements, cleanup supplies, games and activities for your kids (that you won't need to supply at a play place!) , pool toys, etc.... It's very likely that you are going to end up spending MUCH more hosting a celebration at your house or an outside place than you'd inside.
I am not sure how other indoor spaces manage their supplies, but we only charge guests to get additional drinks and supplies and these on the afternoon of the celebration if they wind up needing themand we also allow parties to attract in their OWN meals, dessert, and decor should they choose!
Money aside, spending countless hours cleaning prior to, during, and following the celebration can also have a toll. Would not it be wonderful to walk into a sparkling clean area and leave with your guests once the party's over, not needing to worry about the clean-up, garbage removal, tent teardown, etc?
You can just head home and relax with your family (yes, possibly outside!)
Along with the time spent cleaning before and after the party, would not it ALSO be nice to not have to play"host" throughout the event? Even for clients that bring in their own food and decoration, our committed party assistants set everything up, refill and fix food and beverages as needed, clear dishes, cut and serve the cake, and then pack up all of the leftovers at the end of the celebration!
After all, it is your child's special day and you want to spend those valuable hours making memories and visiting along with your guests-- not running around chasing your decorations or refilling the fruit bowl countless times.
So save everyone (and especially your own family!) We would be honored to offer you an easy, breezy experience which will leave your whole guest list feeling refreshed, thankful, and filled with love after having a relaxing (yet fun-filled!) day together.
